OK, I was annoyed last night. I grabbed a box of bowtie pasta from the shelf to cook for dinner. As I was walking over the the stove, I read the directions for some dish on the side. The dish called for 12 oz of pasta. I thought that was odd...

I look at the box again, it held 12 oz of pasta. JEEZ... 12 oz? 12 stinking oz? that isn't enough for my family! Why are they short changing me? People before me dealt with shrinking coffee and tuna containers and I thought they were weird to be so upset. But, now they have shrunk a 1/2 gallon of ice cream down to something less and a pound of pasta going to become 12 oz.

Not fair! Not fair!

The heck with it, I am using names. If you think I am really making a mistake, comment/mail me and let me know.

When Rebekah was 6ish years old, she loved the Annie movie and wanted shoulder length hair, like Annie. I, the one who loves long hair, didn't let her cut because I was pretty sure she wasn't sure what she was asking for. :-) Well, now Rebekah's hair is half way down her back and thick and heavy. Two months ago I told her she could get her hair cut short if she wants. Why did I make the change? Because she is 9 and has a better idea of what she wants? Well, maybe a little... But mostly because I have a 5 year old with long hair... I can lose one. :-)

Actually, it is funny, Rebekah could use to lose a few inches off her hair cause it is heavy around her face. When I put it up, it looks good, but I don't do that all the time. But, now that she is older, I am letter her choose what to do, and I think it should be cut, she doesn't want to make it any shorter... ironic, huh?

If Alyssa looks up, her hair hits her tush, so it is pretty long! She also could use to get a little cut off, but she wants it to "grow to the ground and then back up again". Ummm... OK, I don't think so. LOL I think there might be histerics the next time she gets her hair cut... we will see. Maybe not, cause she does like the attention of getting her hair cut.

Over the last few years, my girls get their hair cut twice a year whether they need it or not. ;-) Matthew on the other hand is constantly getting hair cuts, or so it seems. The hair dresser does sometimes mention how long it is when I get it cut. LOL I can't let it get too long as it goes in his eyes and he complaines.

So, sorry you came here to read about hair? I will try to be more profound next time. :-)

So, which snow do you think was more fun, last week's 12 inches of powdery snow, cold weather and wind, or this weeks 2 inches of wet mucky, gooky, slushy snow? Well, it depends on the kid. :-) Dh had more fun this week as he didn't shovel and he made a snow man. Well, he and the kids were supposed to make the snowman, but who do you think did most of the work for the 5 foot tall snowman? R liked last week as she sled in the cold... she like today OK too. I think the younger two liked this week better. Last week they were OK the first day, but the second was way too windy. Today they played a lot and the snow was so packable, they were all able to get Daddy with snowballs. :-)

Talking about cold weather... You know you are in trouble when you put the thermostat up 1 measly degree because you feel cold and the heat pump goes over to auxilary. I wonder what my electric bill will be this month! Though, to tell the truth, I am surprised that auxilary comes on so rairly. Even when it is 10 degrees out, the heat pump seem to be able to keep the temperature without auxilary. Surprises me...
