Thanksgiving was very nice. As I said in the other note, I only made the turkey. The stuffing was made seperately, by two different people. I stuffed the bird with onions and carrots, just to flavor the bird. I usually use celery, but we didn't have any handy. Then, I spice the outside with everything that looks good (except salt cause the Kosher bird already has a lot of that) and put it in the roasting bag by the directions. It comes out so juicy that way, and I haven't missed yet (jinx jinx) with a turkey cooked in one of those silly bags. The flavor seems to go into the bird more when it is harder to escape out of the oven. OK, maybe it is all in my mind, maybe not. :-)

The rest of thanksgiving was nice also. The food was good, though it is hard to find food my children will eat there. They mostly ate appetizers (including chips), turkey and lettuce. :-) Oh, and the marshmellows and strawberries which were supposed to be for the chocolate fondue which was part of dessert. :-) Matthew probably also ate 1/2 a watermellon... well not quite. I loved the mashed potatoes, but with all the horseradish (??) that was in it, it was not for the children.

Today, some cousins came over to Mom's house. It was fantastic and the kids played wonderfully, but it was NOISEY. Also, it is 11:20 and these children are still awake, in the bedroom! I am playing mean Mommy by keep on threatening them to be quiet. I also told them they were being mean to Nana and keeping her up! LOL They had 9 hours of sleep last night and probably less the night before. They are exhausted and starting to get cranky. blech

Present count? Kids got presents from the cousins who were over tonight. They each got presents from 3 people which is a lot, but none of them were HUGE, so that is OK. When we have something where there are many gifts, I wonder how a family does it on Christmas day. Isn't it crazy? I can't imagine getting through that type of morrning without at least 1 child melting down, and them not even realizing what they are getting. I guess I had to grow up with it to "get it". I am happy with what we have.

Talking about fondues... Around a month ago, Bill and I went to the Melting Pot restaurant. It was GREAT. We had such a nice, relaxing, long dinner out together. The food was great too! It was good that we had 3 different foundues (cheese, meat in vege broth and chocolate) because I was getting tired of one taste on everything you eat in that course. I don't think it is a place I would go to often, but it is nice for a rare, special treat. I wouldn't go with the kids as I wouldn't trust them not to kill themselves, and they wouldn't like the food anyway. It was just a fun time for us.

We are at my Mom's house for the holidays. The trip was surprisingly painless. Michael was with us and there was not too much traffic. The two biggest problems were Matthew and Alyssa have been fighting/yelling/anoying eachother in the car lately. Luckly they got all that out of their systems in the first 20 minutes or so. Also, Rebekah didn't eat enough and (I think) her blood sugar dropped and she got pretty grumpy. Also, she has another yucky nose cold and we gave her pseudofed. I am not sure how that effected her.

Mom is doing much better then I thought. :-) She is getting stronger every day. :-) Thanksgiving will be at a cousins house, so the only thing we are cooking here tomorrow is the Turkey. Easy smeezy. I think Mom might want to make some dessert too, I am not sure.

My cousin in California got engaged!!!!!! I am so thrilled. Of course I am thrilled for her, but I am also thrilled for little old selfish me. I get to see my new, almost 2 year old, cousin, I get to bring my kids to Califorrnia so we can see their cousins and family, we get to do the touristy thing and I also get to meet some of the California August group. We still aren't sure when it will be, but I can't wait!

Chanukah starts on Friday night. My kids are going to get a LOT of great presents when we are here, Friday and Saturday night and Sunday morrning. I hope they aren't too disappointed when we get home and the presents are decidedly smaller. Well, except when we give my Mom's big present for all three of them. I am not kidding about big, it is about 3 feet high, 4 feet wide and 7 feet long. I bet nobody guesses what it is...

For my presents to them, 1 night is PJs, 1 night pokemon videos from the $1 store. I am hoping not to spend a fortune.

Write later. Having a computer in my bedroom connected to the internet is just not conductive to sleep. I have to get up at 8:30 to spice the Turkey and put it in the oven. Yuck. :-)

Oh yea, does anyone have suggestions of how to convince three kids to go to sleep when they are sharing a bedroom? They play wonderfully, but at 10:30 I want them sleeping, not screaming like pokemons. LOL
