I guess I will post this, with no comment, as something that has been floating around the web.

Dear Lord, I pray for:
Wisdom, To understand a man
Love, To forgive him and
Patience, For his moods
Because, Lord, if I pray for Strength
I'll just beat him to death.

Got to love Saturday morning e- mail. I read e-mail before I went to bed last night. This morning there were 50 new messages! 43 of them were deleted by MailWasher as spam....

We have a slight birthday part situation today. :-)

Rebekah has a party 1/2 hour away from 2-3:45
Matthew has a party in this town from 2-4
Alyssa has a party in this town from 2-4

We have 2 cars and two parents. I guess this usually wouldn't be a problem as the 6yo local party could be a drop off. But, Matthew hates drops offs and in the past has refused to go to a party if I will not be there. I kind of convinced him to go with out me... I am sooooo hoping for the best.

2 of the parties are going to be cool. Alyssa's (where I have to be :-( ) will be the one which interests me the least. It is a firestation party. The kids get to hang around the fire station, see the equipment, ride a fire truck around the block, see a fireman explain his uniform and have cake and ice cream. We have BTDT, and Alyssa is usually scared by the firestation. Matthew party is in someone's house with Mad Scientist. They usually do some really cool experiments/demonstrations and could be cool, and I know it would make such a difference to Matthew if I was there. But, since Alyssa is usually scared at the fire station, I can't send her with another mom. Rebekah's party is at a place I have never been to. Supposedly they have this water slide inside. It is just like an amusement park, you get to ride down on a tube or something!?!?!?!?! I would love to see this. Oh well, it aint going to happen.

Tomorrow, Matthew has one party to go to, I forget where it is and I want to bring Rebekah roller skating. What to do with Alyssa???? Maybe Matthew will love the drop off party and want to be dropped off tomorrow. Yeah, right. Did I tell you guys what a mistake roller skating with the whole family was? Matthew could NOT stand up on the roller skates, even being held/balanced, he needed to be practically carried with his feet on the ground. Alyssa did a little better, but she mostly pulled herself on the fence thing while she was horizontal. :-) Oh well, next year we will try again.

Most important news of the day? Canada airport security doesn't allow fruitcakes! :-)

I volunteered at Matthew's school today. It was nice to be back in the classroom as a volunteer. I worked in his math class. There was a sub there today, instead of the teacher, but it was OK. After the math class, I did some copying. 'some' copying? I went through over 4 reems of paper before I had to pick up Alyssa and didn't finish what was requested to be done. They are scheduling volunteers to come in once a month to do copying. I think people forget to come it, and the copying has been building up. Well, at least I forgot to come in yesterday. LOL

I am not sure if I am going to continue volunteering on Fridays. Matthew was just heartbroken when I left. He was trying to be brave, I know... but his pain :-( was too strong and he started crying. Poor guy... I will discuss it with him, but I don't know if he can figure out if he wants me there or not. I hate for him to be so upset (he is a _sweet_ boy), but I kind of hope that after a few weeks he would be used to it and it would be easy for him to see me come and go? Maybe? This is the kid who says he doesn't like school. He likes math, and reading, and recess, and gym, and anything else you ask but he doesn't like school because he misses me. Aaaaawwwwwwwww

Is it men????

This weekend Matthew and Alyssa had a sleep over in Matthew's room when Rebekah had a sleep over at a friend's house. I know... too cute. Anyway, Bill was putting linens on the folding mattress thing we have for Alyssa. He put on a bottom and top sheet, and the bed spread from Alyssa's bed. That was all he was going to put on... jeez, we were in the middle of getting 18 inches of snow! I said, Bill, she needs a blanket. He said she has one... the bedspread. I said that wasn't warm, she needed a blanket. He looked at me like I had two heads... jeez.

He said look, Matthew only has the cover. I told him, that Matthew's was not a quilt, it was a comforter... that a comforter is warm already. I finally convinced him we had to put Alyssa's yummy lands end fleece blanket on her bed, but I am not sure he was real convinced. Then again, this is the man who dressed Alyssa in a short sleeve cotton night shirt on the first night with a frost alert... Pat? :-)
