Everything is good... I bought sugar, salt, bread and a broom. You see, my brother is moving into a new place this weekend and according to my mom, he needs to have these 4 things first to make sure the pace will be ummm... good? It is a "yiddisher a mamme" (right mom?) thing which basically means a jewish old wive's tale. Or tradition, or a superstition, whatever. I did it. :-)

I am guessing it represents that you will always have enough food, sweet times and a clean (that one doesn't seem right, ummm... well kept???) home. Whatever, I hope that my brother loves his new apartment. It is a short walk from the national zoo in DC, cool, huh?

Thanks Leila for this pointer. This is trully upsetting as I will be flying in August... ugh and weird, especially if Bill worked in the private sector he might work on something like this. UGH.

Wow. I think I got my comments working again. The comments people had the nerve to change their code while I was gone. :-)

Lisa, blog are basically binary (internet) logs (or diaries). But, they are used for lots and lots of different things. Some use it to talk about their lives, being so brutaly honest that they write about things I wouldn't even talk to my best friends about. Some write about technical ideas and have others share also and have amazing discussions. During the Iraqi war, there were many very interesting blogs from people living in Iraq. It is just a newish way to communicate. I don't know what the best way is to find blogs, I just see them mentioned in other blogs and stuff. I know if you do a search in google with blogspot in the search you will find lots. Some write so that friends and relatives can stay close to them and know what is going on in their lives.

Just got some good weather news. :-) Thunderstorms tomorrow and then good weather on Saturday for my brother's move!

Partly cloudy. Highs in the lower 80s.

Just perfect for packing up a truck.
I think I really messed up about something yesterday.

We were swimming at the private pool that Rebekah's friend belongs to. I am friends with the mom. We were the only ones in the pool. Anyway, Rebekah and friend were swimming. Alyssa was kicking around with a noodle. This is only the second time she has been with a noodle without anyone holding her. Friend's father was supposed to be watching her as I was trying to play with Matthew. He is scared of the water and I was trying to give him enough attention to babystep him into being braver. Father was watching, but not staying on top of Alyssa and she went too deep. Father told he to come more shallow, I told her to come more shallow, but I don't even think she knew where the shallow or deep ends were. So, I was heading out to get her and friend was trying to be helpful, I guess, and was going to push her in. This friend is NOT gentle, she doesn't really know little children, and wouldn't understand about how easily a noodle can tip over with a 3.5 year old on it. I was very nervous. I told friend not to touch Alyssa. Her father told her not to touch. I told her again, not to touch as she was touching again. Well, she touched and pushed again and I YELLED :-( DON"T TOUCH HER!!!! in a big, angry, mommy bear voice. UGH.

I also didn't immedietly say I was sorry for yelling. I did, fairly soon after, explain to friend that I only use that voice when there is danger. I reminded her that she has never heard that voice from me in the past, that I only use it if there was danger. Friend's mother was immediately like "don't yell" and " you don't have to yell". I know they have had a psychologist give them all sort of other options to use besides hitting, yelling, tantrums which were too much in the house. But, that is the voice I use for touching the oven, toddler running in street, a 3.5 non swimmer almost jumping into the deep end of the pool, and what I preceive has a threat of my 3.5yo being dumped in the deep end.

I did apologize that day at least twice to the mom. I said I was sorry, but the Mommy bear came out, but I was sorry. I know I should discipline another child when the parent is there, but I saw a threat to my child and I screwed up. :-( Part of it is I know, or believe?, that this child would not listen to regular speech if she had her mind set on doing something... but normally it is not my business to do anything about it, and I shouldn't have, I guess... UGH, I hope the mom isn't pissed at me, we are normally pretty good friends and I really hope we don't lose that over this.

Boy is it HOT!!!! that is all I can think right now. When I cool off with the A/C I will write more. Today is the longer day for the younger's camp so I don't have to pick up till 2:30. Monday and Wed. are 1:00, Tues. and Thurs. are 2:30... not good for an unorganized person like me. Haven't forgetten them on a short day yet...

I seem to be very busy relaxing. But, it doesn't seem too relaxing. :-)

It seemed like I didn't have any free time today, but really I didn't _do_ much. First I had to get Rebekah up and to the camp bus at 8:10, harder then it seems when you overleep till 7:40 and get your slow started up at 7:45. Somehow we made it, but it wasn't relaxing!!! Thank goodness I don't have to make her lunch. :-) Then, I came home, actually talked to my husband for a sec and woke up the other two so I could get them out at 9:15 to go to camp. The only reason I could do it was that Bill was sick last night (nausiated) and he slept in this morning. So, I could leave Alyssa and Matthew sleeping while I brought Rebekah to the bus. If I had to wake the younger two up to get in the car I don't think we would have made it, the bus was coming one way, ,I was coming the other way and we both got to the corner at the same time. :-)

During camp, I bought fruits and veges from the great produce stand, went to Bed Bath and Beyond to buy some stuff I needed (with a store credit :-), put away all that stuff, emptied and filled the dish washer and got on the computer. While on the computer I searched, yet again for hotels in the San Diego area. I just can't decide what to do about that. I talked to a California friend for a while on AIM. Then I had to rush and pick up the kids at 1:00. Monday and Wednesday are the short days.

Then life began. The neighbor came over and the kids played in a blow up pool and I talked to the grandmother. I didn't have any 'me' time as I was entertaining the (very nice) grandmother. Then Rebekah came over, we got ready and went to the private pool that friends belong to. We spent time at the private pool till 7:15, came home and had dinner. Bill came home at 8:00 with flowers and a cake for our anniversary. :-) Just 1 day late, but I have to admit I didn't remember either till my brother told me. LOL Now I am down here typing away when I should be helping Bill get the kids into bed. Soon, I guess.

So, this is a long way of saying that I had a wonderful summer day (it was HOT), but I feel like I need some me time. I think my eye balls are sunburned! LOL

Hmmm... I have been reading blogs again, and I have a digital camera, and things will be happening in my life. Maybe I should start bloggin again? This will be funny as nobody will see this unless I decide to let people know. Hmmm... I think I will blog for a week or so before letting people know to see if anyone gets automatically notified or something...

Blogger does look different from the last time I used it. Hopefully it will post all the time now.

Tomorrow I will write about what my schedule is like this summer. Sure is nice to be summer, but we still have to get up early every morning. Oh well. Camp is fun and worth it for the kids.

Bye
