Bah humbug. Here is Sunday's forcast.

Periods of rain. Highs in the lower 70s. East winds around 10 mph. Chance of rain 80 percent.

Sounds like the parties will probably be inside and we need to clean the basement too.

How many stores can one person go to in a day?
Party City
Party Party Party
Party something (where they finally had dino plates)
BJs
Office Depot (paper to put on the walls for kids to color on
Michael's
Jo Ann Fabric
Produce stand
Supermarket
Toys R Us
Halmark
Target

I think my credit card is worn out! I didn't buy something at every place, but most of them I did...

We put tarps on top of most of the sand pit (kind of like covering the infield during a rain delay :-) and if it is clear during the actual party, I hope to go outside. I have lots of crafts which I will tell you about tomorrow if they actually work. :-)

We need to call the plumber again!!!!! The toilet (can I write that word here?) is squirting water when we flush. Bill said he probably could munge something but since we are having two birthday parties here on Sunday I kind of want it fixed correctly. :-0

Talking about the parties. AAAUUUUUURRRRRGGGGGHHHHH They were supposed to be water parties. After months of not using outside water, I was going to fill up the little pool, set the slip and slide going and have an outside party. It would have been great and easy... But, now after like a year drought, it is going to be rainy for a whole week! Here is the forcast -

Cloudy with scattered showers. Highs in the lower 80s

I guess there is still a chance. But, the sandpit (where the party was going to be) is going to be very wet and dirty and yucky. What am I going to do? Alyssa's party (10-12) doesn't have that many people. I could easily do a craft, music and games inside then pizza and cake. But, Matthew's party (2-4, crazy or what?) has more kids and he doesn't really like crafts and there isn't any meal at his party... is going to be a problem.

OK, lets think. Matthew does like cutting/glueing and stickers. I could figure out a craft and maybe visit Michaels and get inspired. Some music and songs can pass _some_ time. I guess they could decorate some sort of food... When the parents drop off I can always tell them it is 1.5 hours and not 2??? couldn't I???? Maybe it could work??????

I am not going to write much about them going to school. I figured out I didn't write these two past days because it was just too much for me to deal with.... organizing my feelings and writing it down, that is. Everything is as good as could be expected... lets leave it at that. :-)

Yes, Diane, I will have 3 hours, 3 days a week to myself.. It is not as much time as it sounds like. Hopefully, I will be volunteering at Rebekah's school one of those days and at Matthew's school the other day. The third day... well... I really should do this thing called cleaning. ;-) Come January I feel like I will have more time to myself. Alyssa will start going to school (with the same teacher, class and room) 5 mornings a week instead of 3. That will be nice!

Today, Matthew and Alyssa are fighting over Marlene's gift from yesterday. It sure will be easier when Matthew gets his gift tomorrow. :-) Then on Sunday we will be drowing in them!

It is raining out and the air feels so good. So clean and fresh. Unfortunetly, all the kids can talk about is that they are scared of lightening and thunder. I mean really... this is just a nice fall rain storm (we have had soooo little rain)... no thunder at all and here they are worrying and not enjoying. Oh well...

The plumber is installing the third of our new bathroom sinks. He said the one he took out was the worse of the three... it was leaking. Uh oh... guess we didn't notice!!!! LOL

I guess I should get the kids dressed (it is 11:15) and start getting some prep work done for the parties. Order cake, figure out how many kids, buy paper goods, buy bike for Alyssa, pray for 1 day of sun on Sunday... bye bye

Jeez. I am shopping on Lillian Vernon for a lunch bag. I type in the search box "lunch bag" and press return. I then go to another window to do something because I can never wait for my modem connection... it is like sitting through comercials. Anyway, when I come back it tells me thank you for signing up for a mailing list. WHAT??? what the deal. OK, maybe I wont give these people my CC number, the site seems scewed up. But, what do you know, I go back to the original page and above the search text box there is a box to put your email address for a list. :-) I must have given them an e-mail address of "lunch box". LOL Wonder what that will do to their database?

I am packing up Rebekah's stuff to send her to school tomorrow. Where did the summer go? School kind of jumped up and bit me this year. Rebekah is very excited about school and has written a sweet little letter to her dream teacher of last year. I hope Rebekah has a good teacher and year this year.

I am also going to be bringing Matthew's stuff to school (kindergarten!!!) tomorrow so he doesn't have to carry so much on Tues., his first day. I am in shock... how can this little baby be going to school? He will be on a bus without his sister (different schools). He is scared to talk to strangers, how will he find his way? How will he cope without me? I guess I am his security line and his translater. Ugh... He did well in preschool for the last 3 years... I don't know why I am so nervous. I guess the bus and the new school has sent me for a trip. He changes classes, and maybe teachers and rooms for reading and math. How will he handle the transitions? Will he be able to learn these things? In some ways, I KNOW he will be fine, but the Mommy in me is nervous... (UNDERSTATEMENT!!!)

They break the Kindergarten class into thirds to start school and orient the kids. Matthew goes on Tues, then not again till Friday, then not again till Tues, after labor day. Hard way to get used to school...

Alyssa doesn't start till the Monday after labor day. Even though she is the youngest, I know her teacher ( a wonderful, nutureing woman), I know the school and so does Alyssa. She will only have school 9-12, 3 days a week. Easy measy... camp was more hours. Her I am not nervous about.
