Well, I overpacked yet aqain. :-)

The sedars went really well again! The kids were amazing and pretty good. Every year it gets better as they get older. I know my Nanny (mom's mom) would just have loved to see them. My Mom just loves them to pieces and it is special to see them doing the family things I did as a kid... everyone sing now... Tradition, tradition...

Today is my birthday and we celebrated with candles in a strawberry sherbert thingie. Matzah cake just isn't worth it! :-)

There are so many stories, I don't know where to start. The drive was up and down. We had no traffic all the way from Baltimore to the bridge from NJ to Staten Island. Then the NY traffic jam started. It was horrid. For all we could have known, the traffic could have been the whole way. We finally got here (after an emergency food stop [fruit only] and an EMERGENCY potty stop). The Wed. sedar was just our family and they decided to hold it for us. We let the kids run a little and then we had the sedar. Matthew and Alyssa showed off some that they knew and sang some. Rebekah taught us some stuff that (really) she knew from hebrew school and we didn't know. When did she grow up so?

Tonight we had 20 people. We had the sedar in the family room and it worked out OK, even if it was a bit crazy. Not much from the kids... it was nice having a family one the night before. The kids went to bed at 9:30 (with no nap even with a 6+ hour car ride!), 10:00 and 12:00 on Wed. So, on Thurs. they were pretty tired. I did get Matthew and Alyssa to nap. I hope they sleep later tomorrow (it was 8:00 today) as we have something planned for almost every day and if they start getting sleep deprived it just wont be fun.

I brought down dress clothes that the kids are going to wear in a wedding in July. They are flower children. LOL The bride and the bride's children (oh yeah, the groom too) like the dresses and vest and at least I feel like I don't have to stress over that. The wedding should be fun! I just have to fine some comfortable shoes. I spent tonight's sedar with bare feet!

I need to sleep..

Well, Alyssa had her program in school today and Matthew will have his tomorrow. I am just the video taking wiz now a days. Rebekah will not be going to school tomorrow so we can leave right from Matthew's program and drive to NY for the seders. I am looking forward to the seders but need to talk to the kids about what behaviour is expected. :-) Should be umm.. interesting.

Ooh, I just reminded myself I need to pack some song sheets I have to intersperse some songs into the sedar.

I so need to pack. I soo hate packing. The kids and I will be gone for 10 days. I have no clue what the weather will be like. I need dress clothes for 3 days. Ugh, I don't even know if the Odyssey will be big enough! LOL

OK, I need to go and either pack or sleep! I don't know how much I will be writing till I get back. What is my password on this thing again? OK, see ya...

I should be asleep but I will type a little... Sorry it has been so long. First of all, we had a great time with my Mom here! All the kids love her so much. Plus they get quarters to play in the machines at Fudruckers! LOL When I go with them I ask them who you need to go with to get quarters? The immediately say Nana and stop bothering me. LOL

Rebekah's play was wonderful. She was wonderful, the class was wonderful, the teacher was wonderful. :-) Also, I am very happy Rebekah didn't get an elephant part. Those costumes were difficult, the ears and tail of a hyenna were much easier. We did try to go out for ice cream after the show. But, we along with too many of the other cast members tried to go to Friendlies. I think they had 3 people working. One who didn't care and two who were getting trained. We ended up leaving Friendlies long after bed time with an ice cream cake in our hands. It worked out OK, we had cake that night and then Rebekah had to get up extra early the next morning to go to Donuts with Dad at school before school started. Then, after school, I took Alyssa and a very exhausted and cranky Rebekah to an italian ice place for a promised treat outside the house.

My only regret was video taping. I just didn't have time to enjoy the play while I was worried about getting a good picture with the video camera and taping the show... oh well.

Alyssa has a model seder at school on Tues, and Matthew has one on Wed. I have to make sure the video camera is charged up to tape those! It is not fair if only Rebekah gets video taped!

Since we will not be in town later this week, I rescheduled Alyssa and Matthew's gymnastics to be tomorrow/today. I do not know how I will get everything done I need to do before Wed. Mom, I think I will be bringing stuff to NY to return at Pennies, Target and Macys. LOL

I have more to write but am too tired. One good thing about this format is I can enter posts from NY when I am there. There is a computer in the room I sometimes sleep in at my Mom's house. If I sleep there, I will definetly have to put myself on a computer budget!

See ya
